From coffee and tea to horticulture and textiles, Uganda's
growing industry is one of the last places on the globe to offer real investment
opportunities. International airlines seek to tap into the country’s growing
passenger traffic resulting from increasing investor numbers coming to explore
investment opportunities, especially in the oil sector. President Museveni
said he expects the country's economic growth rate to more than double following
the discovery of oil and gas. We should be able to achieve between 12 and 15
percent economic growth he said. The country’s initial growth rate of an
average of 8.2 percent per year, had taken a set back from the current global
economic crisis, plummeting to below 6 percent. 2012 has been marked by
both the government and oil exploration companies as the year oil will start
flowing following the launch of commercial production of Uganda’s oil fields in
the Albertine Graben in western Uganda. Also, a heavy oil power dam has been
